Amber L. Hegarty joined the Firm as an associate in 2007. Amber's general practice includes, but is not limited to, Business Law, Commercial Law, Real Estate, Wills, Trusts, Estate Planning & Probate Law, Corporate Law, Litigation and Collections Law. She has represented and assisted clients in a range of industries including, but is not limited to, manufacturing, service and sales, banking, real estate, and health care.
Amber was born in Cherokee, Iowa, and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated with honors from Morningside College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. Following her graduation from Morningside, she attended the University of Iowa College of Law, and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 2001. While attending the University of Iowa College of Law, she was a staff writer for the Journal of Gender, Race and Justice her second year and the Senior Notes and Comments Editor her third year. Following graduation, she served as a deputy county attorney in Nebraska for over five years.
Amber was admitted to practice law in Nebraska in 2002, Iowa in 2007, and South Dakota in 2010. She is a member of The Iowa State Bar Association, Nebraska State Bar Association, Woodbury County Bar Association, and the Dakota County Bar Association, as well as the Labor and Employment and Litigation Sections of The Iowa State Bar Association.
Amber is a member of the Sioux City Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and stays active with her family. She coaches youth sports and is involved in the many activities of her children. She is an avid Hawkeye football fan and Boston Red Sox fan. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside, reading, and spending time with friends.
