Karrie R. Hruska joined the Firm as an associate in 2008, becoming a partner in 2010.  Karrie’s general practice includes, but is not limited to, Wills, Trusts, Estate Planning & Probate Law, Litigation, Business Law, Family Law, and Trial Law.

Karrie grew up in Sioux Center, Iowa.  She began her college education at Dordt College in Sioux Center, later transferring to the University of South Dakota where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice.  While at the University of South Dakota, she served on and chaired the Judicial Board.  She also participated on the University’s Mock Trial Team, which participated in and placed at national tournaments.  Karrie was awarded a Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1999.  While at Iowa, she was selected to be a member of the Stephenson Trial Advocacy Team.

Karrie is currently admitted to practice before the State Courts in Iowa and South Dakota, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa, and the United States Court of Federal Claims.  She is a member of The Iowa State Bar Association, State Bar of South Dakota, and Woodbury County Bar Association.  Karrie is a member of the Probate and Trust Section of The Iowa State Bar Association.   She has served on the Executive Board of the Young Lawyers Division of The Iowa State Bar Association.  Karrie is very active in mock trial in Iowa, serving on the Mock Trial Committee of The Iowa State Bar Association since 2000. 

Karrie is also very active in her community.  She has served on the Events Facilities Advisory Board for the City of Sioux City since 2004, and was President in 2008-2009.  She is currently Vice-President of the Sioux City Sports Commission.  She has been a member of the Junior League of Sioux City since 2003.  In her free time Karrie enjoys traveling, reading, and camping with her family.
